1. Introduction
This Guest Contributor Agreement (“Agreement”) is between Grace Tidings (“Publisher,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and the individual submitting content (“Contributor,” “you,” or “your”) for publication on the Grace Tidings website at gracetidings.org (the “Site”).
By submitting content to Grace Tidings, or by checking the agreement box on our submission form, you accept this Agreement. It applies together with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, which also apply to your use of the Site. If this Agreement conflicts with the Terms of Use about a contribution, this Agreement controls.
2. Content Submission and Approval
2.1 Mission and doctrinal alignment. Every submission must align with the mission and values of Grace Tidings and be doctrinally consistent with our ministry, which holds the Bible as its final authority. Scripture quotations should be from the King James Version to be consistent with the rest of the Grace Tidings website, unless the Publisher approves otherwise.
2.2 Our decision. We may accept, decline, or ask for changes to any submission, and we may decline content for doctrinal reasons. Acceptance of a submission is not a promise to publish it by a certain date, or at all.
2.3 Originality. Submissions must be your own original work and must not have been published elsewhere, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
2.4 AI-generated content. AI-generated content is not accepted. You may use AI tools for limited support, such as editing or brainstorming ideas, but the final content must come from your own thought, conviction, and voice, and must reflect your genuine personal experience or study. We may ask you about how a piece was written, and we may decline or remove any submission that we reasonably believe was generated by AI.
3. Ownership and License
3.1 You keep your copyright. You retain ownership of the copyright in your content.
3.2 License to Grace Tidings. You grant Grace Tidings a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide license to publish, display, edit, adapt, distribute, and promote your content, in any media and format, including the Site, newsletters, social media, video, audio, remote or in-person presentations, and printed or digital publications or compilations, with attribution as described in Section 6. This license is non-exclusive as to ownership, but see Section 3.3.
3.3 No republishing without consent. You agree not to publish your contribution elsewhere without our written consent. If we agree to it in writing, you may republish it with credit to Grace Tidings and a link to the original article on the Site.
3.4 Sharing. You may share links to your published article on your own channels, and may quote short excerpts with a link back to the Site, without further permission.
4. Originality, Plagiarism, and Intellectual Property
4.1 All content must be original and free of copyright violations.
4.2 Any quotes, images, or media from third parties must be properly credited, and you must have the permissions needed to use them. Please do not include images of identifiable people without their permission.
4.3 Your assurances. You confirm that your content is your own work, does not infringe anyone’s rights, does not contain defamatory or unlawful material, and does not disclose private information about others without permission.
4.4 You agree to indemnify and hold Grace Tidings harmless from claims arising from copyright infringement or other violations of third-party rights in your content (see also Section 9).
5. Editing and Formatting
5.1 We may edit content for clarity, grammar, length, formatting, search optimization, and consistency with the Grace Tidings style, and may add titles, headings, and images.
5.2 We will tell you about significant edits before publication. If you do not agree with them, you may withdraw your submission before it is published.
6. Compensation and Attribution
6.1 Volunteer contribution. Contributions are voluntary and unpaid unless we agree otherwise in writing. You are an independent volunteer, not an employee, agent, or partner of Grace Tidings, and you have no authority to speak or act for it. Because Grace Tidings is not currently a registered tax-exempt organization, it cannot issue tax receipts for contributions of content or time.
6.2 Attribution. We will credit you with your name and a short bio, and, if you wish, a link to your website or social media. To be credited, you must provide a bio and a head-shot.
6.3 Anonymity. If you prefer not to be credited by name, tell us before publication, and we will decide whether we can publish the piece without a name attached.
7. Privacy and Account Information
We collect and use your name, email address, bio, photo, and any other information you provide as described in our Privacy Policy. Your name, bio, and photo will be shown publicly with your content. If we give you an account on the Site, you are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity under your account.
8. External Links, Promotion, and Disclosure
8.1 We may remove or change external links in your content.
8.2 Promotional links, affiliate links, and links to products or services must be disclosed to us and approved in advance, and must be clearly disclosed to readers as the law requires.
8.3 Your content may not be used to advertise or promote your own business, ministry, or products unless we agree otherwise in writing.
9. Accuracy, Liability, and Indemnification
9.1 You are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of your content, including its Scripture references and any facts or statistics.
9.2 You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Grace Tidings, its founder, team members, volunteers, and supporters from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from your content or your breach of this Agreement.
9.3 Grace Tidings is not responsible for the opinions or claims in contributed content, which are those of the Contributor, though we publish only what we judge to be consistent with our ministry.
10. Comments on Your Content
Readers may comment on your published article, and all comments are moderated under our Terms of Use. We encourage you to respond to comments in a respectful, humble manner. Final moderation decisions rest with the Publisher.
11. Termination and Removal
11.1 Either of us may ask for content to be removed. Grace Tidings will consider your request in good faith, particularly for reasons of accuracy, safety, or privacy. However, we may keep published content live and keep archived copies, unless removal is required by law.
11.2 If you ask us to remove your personal information, such as your photo or bio, we will honor that to the extent the law requires and will otherwise consider it in good faith. We may keep the content live with a general credit such as “Guest Contributor.”
11.3 We may remove content at any time if it becomes outdated or inaccurate, or no longer fits our ministry’s values or doctrinal position. We may also decline future contributions from anyone who breaches this Agreement.
12. Successor Organization
Grace Tidings may assign this Agreement, and the license you grant in it, to a successor organization, such as a nonprofit corporation formed to continue this ministry, without further consent from you.
13. General Provisions
13.1 Changes. We may update this Agreement from time to time. The version in effect when you submit a contribution applies to that contribution. Continued submissions after an update mean you accept the new version.
13.2 Severability. If any part of this Agreement is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
13.3 Entire agreement. This Agreement, together with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, is the entire agreement between us about your contributions and replaces earlier agreements on that subject.
13.4 Governing law. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States of America. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Illinois for the resolution of any disputes.
14. Acceptance
By submitting content to Grace Tidings, or by checking the agreement box on our submission form, you confirm that you have read and agree to this Agreement. This Agreement is binding upon submission.
